IdClone

HeyGen alternative built around a verified clone of you

If you are looking for a HeyGen alternative, you probably already know what AI presenter video can do and want to check whether a different approach fits your team better. IdClone does one thing: it builds a verified clone of you, or of a colleague who records their own consent, and turns typed scripts into videos of that person in their own voice. This page compares the published pricing facts side by side and says plainly when HeyGen may be the better choice.

What we compared and where the numbers come from

We kept this comparison to facts that anyone can check. HeyGen's figures below are as listed on their pricing page in October 2026: a Creator plan at $29 a month, a Pro plan at $49 a month, a Business plan at $149 a month plus $20 per seat, usage measured in credits, and an option that costs nothing to start. We do not describe HeyGen's features, quality, data handling or policies here, because we cannot verify them on your behalf. Prices change, so check their pricing page before you decide.

Where IdClone takes a different approach

Clones of real people only. Every clone in IdClone is a person who recorded two minutes of their own footage and a 60 second voice sample, passed a live selfie check and spoke a one time consent phrase matched to that footage. A teammate's clone is built only from their own recording sent from their own invite. We do not offer a library of stock presenters, and public figures and politicians are blocked.

Minutes you can count. Each plan states the minutes it includes: 8, 25, 90 or 300 avatar video minutes and 40, 120, 300 or 700 voice clone minutes a month. A three minute video uses three minutes, and a translated version counts its own length. A finance team can read the bill without a conversion table.

Provenance on every export. Each video can carry a visible AI-generated label and content credentials metadata, and each clone has a consent record. On Business that record can be exported, and on Enterprise the audit log can be exported too, which helps when legal or procurement reviews the tool.

Translation, voice and API in the same plans. One script goes to 30+ languages with lip sync on Pro and above, voice-overs export as WAV or MP3, and the AI avatar API is included on Business and Enterprise.

When HeyGen may suit you better

Be honest about what you need. If you want a ready-made presenter who is not anyone on your team, IdClone is the wrong tool, because we only build clones of people who recorded their own consent, and a product with stock avatars fits that need better. If your budget for a single person is under $49 a month, the lower listed entry prices at HeyGen may matter more to you than anything on this page. If you want to try generating video before paying anything, HeyGen lists a no-cost option, while IdClone never renders video without a paid plan. Our preview shows the scene plan, duration and minute estimate on a recorded sample, but it does not create a video.

Who usually chooses IdClone

Teams where the person on screen matters: a trainer whose face new hires already know, a sales rep sending follow-ups, a founder announcing releases, a coach whose students signed up for them. Teams whose legal or brand reviewers ask who agreed to be cloned and how viewers will know the video is AI. Teams who want to plan video budgets in minutes. If that is you, start with the AI video generator for business overview or the consent and safety page.

Moving your scripts over

Your existing scripts work as they are. Paste one into the editor, and IdClone splits it into scenes and estimates its length. Record your two minute training video and voice sample with a phone or webcam, complete the consent check, and your clone is ready to present the script. Add product names to the pronunciation dictionary and set up your brand kit once on Pro and above.

Questions and answers

Is IdClone cheaper than HeyGen?

Not at entry level. As listed on their pricing page in October 2026, HeyGen's Creator plan is $29 a month and our Starter plan is $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly. Compare the plan that matches your team size and minutes, not only the lowest price.

Does IdClone use credits?

No. Plans include avatar video minutes and voice clone minutes per month, and every video uses its own length.

Can I use a stock avatar in IdClone?

No. IdClone only builds clones of people who recorded their own footage and consent. If you need stock presenters, a tool that offers them suits you better.

Can I start without paying?

There is no free plan. The preview is open without an account and shows the scene plan, duration and minute estimate for your script on a recorded sample.

Can a colleague be cloned for our team videos?

Yes, if they record their own training footage and spoken consent through their own invite. Nobody can upload another person's video to create a clone.
