IdClone

Acceptable use policy

IdClone makes clones of real people, so the rules on whose likeness can be used and for what are strict and apply to every plan, every workspace and every API call. This policy is part of the terms of service. Last updated: October 20, 2026.

Only your own likeness, or a person who consented themselves

  • You may build a clone only of yourself.
  • A clone of another person, such as a teammate or a client, may be built only from that person's own recording, sent from their own invite, with their own live check and their own spoken consent.
  • You must not upload, record or submit footage or audio of anyone else in order to clone them, including recordings taken from the internet, from meetings, from calls or from social media.
  • You must not ask, pressure or pay another person to pass the live check or read the consent statement on behalf of someone else.
  • A person whose clone is in your workspace can withdraw consent at any time, and the clone is then deleted.

No public figures, politicians or celebrities

Clones of politicians, candidates for public office, government officials, celebrities and other public figures are not allowed, even with what looks like their consent through a third party. Scripts that put words in the mouth of a public figure, or that present a clone as a public figure, are not allowed either.

Prohibited uses

  • Impersonation: presenting a clone as someone other than the person who consented, or using your own clone to pretend to be someone else.
  • Fraud and deception: scams, fake endorsements, fake testimonials, fake news, phishing, payment or invoice fraud, social engineering, or messages designed to make a viewer believe a real person said something they did not.
  • Elections and civic processes: content about elections, voting, candidates or ballot measures that could mislead voters.
  • Adult content: sexual or sexually suggestive content of any kind.
  • Identity documents: anything related to identity documents, including creating, altering, imitating or presenting passports, driver's licenses, ID cards or similar documents, and attempts to pass identity verification of any other service.
  • Harassment, threats, hate, defamation, or content that targets a person or group.
  • Content involving minors in any way other than clearly educational material presented by a consenting adult.
  • Illegal activity, or content that infringes copyright, trademarks or the privacy and publicity rights of others.
  • Medical, legal or financial claims presented as coming from a licensed professional who did not consent to that content.

AI disclosure and provenance

Every export carries content credentials metadata. You must not strip or alter it to make content appear authentic, and you must disclose AI-generated content wherever the law, a platform's rules or the context requires it. We recommend the visible AI-generated label for any content published to the public. Read more on the consent and safety page.

Misuse of the service itself

  • Trying to get around the live check, the consent step, render limits or plan limits.
  • Reverse engineering, scraping or extracting clone models.
  • Sharing accounts or reselling access outside the client workspaces included in Business and Enterprise.
  • Overloading the API or using it to generate content for third parties who are not bound by this policy.

Agencies and team workspaces

Agencies may produce videos for clients only from clones each client recorded themselves through their own invite, in a client workspace. The workspace owner is responsible for making sure everyone with a seat follows this policy, and reviewers who approve videos confirm that the content follows it.

How we enforce this policy

We may review content, consent records and account activity when we receive a report or detect a pattern of misuse. We may block a render, suspend a clone or an account immediately while we check, delete clones, and close accounts that break this policy, without refund. Where content suggests a crime, we may report it and cooperate with the authorities.

Report misuse

If you see a video made with IdClone that uses your likeness without your consent or breaks this policy, email support@idclone.com with the subject "Misuse report", a link to or copy of the video and where you found it. Reports are reviewed with priority. You can also read the privacy policy for how we handle the data in a report.
